Welcome to The Driving Times. We hope you will enjoy reading the premier issue. We’re confident you will find the format extremely refreshing. The oversized, 11 x 17 appearance of the publication will make it easy to read. Besides, we all can’t have 20/20 vision (I know I don’t). The Driving Times will offer four seasonal issues per year : Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. When we were in the research and development stage of The Driving Times, we had a vision for it to be a very informative publication, but at the same time, we wanted it to maintain a casual feel. We will feature several different editorial topics each issue focusing on products, services and the latest technology within the trucking industry. You will also find articles on hunting, fishing, country music, NASCAR and much more.

If you are an owner operator, company driver, team or small fleet, and are in the market for a change, check out Career Corner. This is an easy to use section of the publication that will quickly enable you to locate not one, but several companies at once, which are hiring in your area. It will even inform you of what type of freight each of these companies haul. Each issue, we will feature the latest in country music in a section entitled, you guessed it..... Country Music Corner. This section is proudly sponsored by Universal Music Group of Nashville. We are quite proud ourselves to be able to feature country legend George Strait on the front cover of our premier issue. Thanks UMG!

In our Hunting & Fishing section, we will attempt to bring you articles pertaining to that particular season of the year. Read about whitetail and moose deer, as well as largemouth bass and ice fishing, and much more. Also each issue, keep up with the latest in NASCAR news. We will feature articles, facts and photos of tracks around the circuit, as well as bios and photos from some of your favorite drivers.

Even though The Driving Times will offer an entertainment value, we understand the need for information involving your livelihood. Each issue will be packed with articles focusing on fuel economy, emissions, fuels, tax tips, insurance, financing, as well as the hottest new products in the industry. We will also keep you up-to-date with news from our capital. Each issue will also feature a layout with technical information and photos of the new 2008 trucks. As you probably already noticed, the Freightliner Cascadia is our featured truck this issue.

Make sure to come by and see us at The Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky this March. We will be presenting our yearly M.A.T.S. Sweepstakes Giveaway. This year is no different than the past nine years. We will draw for thousands of dollars worth of great prizes at 2:00 on Friday and Saturday from our booth at the show. Look us up while you’re there and come by to register. You can also register prior to the show by mailing in the entry form which you will find in our Sweepstakes Section of this issue, or you can register online at www.thedrivingtimesmag.com. Just remember....if you don’t enter, you can’t win!

We hope to eventually make The Driving Times available in every truckstop coast to coast. If you don’t find it at you favorite truckstop, let the manager know they need to get it! Until then, feel free to contact me personally at (800) 663-8791 ext. 106, and I will set you up on a free 1-year trial subscription. All we ask in return is for you to kick your feet up, relax and enjoy the publication. And if calling any of our advertisers, please let them know you saw them in The Driving Times. Please give us your comments. We want to know what you’re looking for in a publication and our goal is to deliver. Until next time, be safe and we’ll see you down the road.
